The Freedom Equestrian Drill Team Association (FEDTA) was created by devoted drill team people to fulfill the need for knowledge and activities for all people interested in the sport of drill.

FEDTA is the only drill association in Texas dedicated to helping teams improve their skills and move to the next level by giving clinics throughout the year and going to those teams who need help.

In Texas, there are at least 75 equestrian drill teams scattered all over the state. Teams vary in size, with riders of all ages including men, women and youth. Horses of all breeds, disciplines and colors perform those drill routines. Whether your interest is in competition, rodeo drill, parade, exhibition, or just for fun and camaraderie; FEDTA is here for you. Our boundaries are not limited to Texas.

Our Plans for 2010

The Freedom Equestrian Drill Team Association here in Texas is planning two events this year so far.

March 13, 2010  A drill clinic in Speegleville Saddle Club Arena, Waco Texas close to Waco that will cover everything from soup to nuts. We'll help teams that need a little or a lot of work in everything from updating your drill outfits to going over the basic drills and how to do them properly. If you have an especially difficult place in your drill that just is not working for you, then let us know and we'll offer ideas to fix it. Watch this site for more information, contact info@texasstargaits.org, or call Sara McMillan 254-749-3338.

September 18, 2010  The Fall Classic Drill Competition at the Limestone Texas Expo Arena will be a one-day competition. Mark your calendars and plan to come. It will be a great way to wind down the drill season. The arena and stalls are covered and there are hookups as well. We'll get more details out soon.
