LINDA BLACKWOOD
Drill is my passion!! I am drillmaster for the Riders of Faith Drill Team of Shepherd’s Valley Cowboy Church in Egan. I have been the ministry leader for this team since 2004 when the team became a ministry of the church. I have loved horses for as long as I can remember. Equestrian drill caught my attention is 2000 and I was hooked. I love to participate in anything drill from writing drills to riding drill to participating in drill clinics and competitions. From scribing for judges to totaling scores at competitions or actually riding in a competition, I want to be a part of the action. In 2009, I was certified as a level one judge by the USEDA. Learning and sharing the knowledge that I acquire is important to me so I try not to miss any opportunity to help anyone new to the drill addiction.

BARBARA KNUDSEN
Is a licensed Drill Judge and is carded by the USEDA and the WLRCA. She judges all over the United States and enjoys every minute of it. She is also Judges Liason for the RED DIRT RIDE in Duncan Oklahoma (see OKLAHOMA EQUESTRIAN DRILL ASSOCIATION -OKEDA) and with other members of the FEDTA, puts on the FALL CLASSIC DRILL TEAM COMPETITION in Groesbeck, Texas. This year's competition is September 3rd & 4th, 2011.
Currently she is our Publicist and generally try to get things moving person. Originally from the State of Washington where she was a member of the Peace Arch Equestrian Drill Team. When they started competing she got more interested in the judging end of things and so attended the first WLRCA Judges Clinic some 25 years ago. After moving to Texas she helped found the USEDA and acted in a variety of positions. She put their first handbook together with permission from the WLRCA. She also organized their first judges clinic of which over 60 people attended from all over the United States and Canada. It was also the organizational meeting for the USEDA. It was noted by her that there were a lot of drill teams in Texas that wanted to improve but because of limited resources and such, were not really sure how to go about this. It became apparent several years ago that there was a need for an organization such as this one:
the FREEDOM EQUESTRIAN DRILL TEAM ASSOCIATION.
Basically,we have those resources to pull other drill 'experts' in so that we can provide the best information in whatever is needed by a particular group of people. Be it how to get a team together or who want to drill but don't have a clue how to draw up a drill, how to do the basic maneuvers correctly, etc. If you just need ideas for different drill maneuvers we have a library of past drill competitions that consists of DVD's and Videos that we can lend to help you out. Sometimes it is best to be able to see the maneuvers first. If you need ideas to jazz your outfits up, we can help you and stay on a slim budget. Just get in touch with us and we'll tailor a clinic just for you in areas that you need help.
